About Examination Committee

    The Examination committee is an apex body of the Institute which is headed by Examinations In-Charge and shall be facilitated by three sections: Examination, Record Maintenance and Administration. The main function of this Committee is to carry out examinations, declared results and award certificates (provided by the University and Institute) to the students who pass the final examinations. Keeping the record of each and every issue related to the examination and organizing workshops and seminars for the improvement of the examination system are also the responsibilities of this Committee. The Examination Committee is responsible for preparation, administration, and evaluation of the examination of the UG courses in our college. The Examination Committee is also responsible for the smooth conduct of exams via offline as well as online mode.

    Objective-
    To conduct internal assessment and external assessment examination related work as per University notifications and ordinance.

    Role and Responsibility

    • The Exam Cell shall distribute the exam forms of the University to regular students (the fees for the same are collected as part of the college fees) and collect them back after having them duly filled in.
    • The Exam Cell shall put up notice inviting students to have the exam form collected and returned in due time.
    • The Examination Committee shall prepare relevant time tables for the College based on the examination time-table.
    • The Examination Committee shall make the block and seating arrangement and display them on the concerned notice board/website and blocks.
    • The Exam Committee shall prepare and display an overall supervision duty list as well as daily supervision duty list on the staff notice board.
    • The Exam Committee shall ensure that adequate stationery like answer sheets, drawing sheets, charts, graph papers, drawing boards, trays, threads, water jugs etc. are made available.
    • The Exam Committee shall hold a pre-exam meeting to brief the members of faculty with regard to the examination procedures and the role and responsibilities of the report of the same shall be submitted to the Principal.
    • Committee should collect examiners' names for assessment and moderation of each subject from respective HODs.
    • Preparation of smooth conduct of examinations, preparation of time-table schedules, invigilation duty chart, seat allotment in the examination halls etc.

    Examination Rules & Guidelines-
    The learners' success in all of the above-mentioned four courses will be evaluated in two ways: by internal assessment, which will account for 25% of the grade, and by administering the Semester End Examination, which will account for 75% of the grade. The following is the mark distribution for the internal assessment and semester end examination:-
    A) Internal Assessment – 25 Marks-
    Class test 20 Marks and 5 marks are for overall academic/non-academic/attendance
    B) External/semester End Assessment – 75 Marks-
    1. Examination will be for2.30 hours.
    2. Question Paper Format:
    -There will be four questions for 15 points each.
    -All questions must be mandatory, with internal choices inside each question.
    -Question will be divided into sub-questions a,b,c........, and the distribution of marks is determined by the topic's weightage.
    -For semesters I to IV, the evaluation of Parts "A" and "B," i.e. internal assessments and semester end examinations, as described above, will be processed, and grade cards will be handed to the students.

    STANDARD OF PASSING AND PERFORMANCE GRADING
    -To pass a course, students must receive a minimum of 40% in the aggregate for each subject, which includes both internal assessment and a semester-end examination. -To pass the course, students must receive a minimum of 30 out of 75 in the semester and examination, and a minimum of 10 out of 25 in the internal assessment, as well as a minimum of Grade E in each project, if applicable. If a student passes both the Internal Assessment and the Semester End Examination, he or she is said to have passed the course.

    Performance Grading
    The performance Grading of the learner shall be on the Seven point Grading system as under:

  • The aggregate performance of Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination will be used to grade performance.*Note:- Subject to further modification by the University.
  • Eligibility norms to appear for the additional class test or assignment for learners who remain absent:
  • If the learner is not present for activities or events connected to performing, The head of institution is authorized to offer authorization to the learner to appear for supplementary exams in the arts, sports, research, or camp organized by the University or National/International authorities.
  • On scrutiny of the documents and testimonials, the Head of the Institution may grant the student permission to take the supplementary examination.
