About Institute
The Manjara Charitable Trust was established in 1988 by the late Honorable Shri Vilasraoji Dagdojiraoji Deshmukh, a visionary leader and philanthropist. Shri Vilasraoji Deshmukh, a former Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences for the Government of India and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, India, founded the trust with the goal of providing quality education to students in Maharashtra. His inspiration and guidance have led the educational and social institutions under the trust to achieve numerous recognitions and awards. His social vision continues to motivate future initiatives and activities of the trust's institutions.
The primary objective of the Manjara Charitable Trust is to achieve holistic rural and urban development by providing educational facilities across various disciplines and areas. Additionally, Smt. Sushiladevi Deshmukh College of Arts, science & Commerce embodies the trust's commitment to serving the needs and interests of the people. The college operates under a shared responsibility model, involving faculty, academic staff, and students in its governance. Over the last two decades, the trust has initiated several educational institutions, offering primary, secondary, higher secondary, degree education, and research programs across Maharashtra. The trust is renowned for fostering an environment where "excellence is habit, and social welfare is mission."
